8th Wonder of the World Burger Challenge at Watson’s Cafe (Vidcon 2018) | Freak Eating

thank you! right okay so I have one hour
finish everything so it’s the burger and pitcher of soda okay go ahead all right now lighter on top go boy welcome back to another challenge
the day after the broken yolk and orange we went for a drive into downtown Orange
to get up close and personal with Watson soda fountain home of the eighth wonder
of the world burger challenge it’s a giant cheeseburger served on top
of a giant pile of fries and to make it even more absurd they serve another
smaller burger on top of the big burger they don’t want you to get thirsty so
this $30 combo meal also comes with a whole picture of soda with no fanfare no
BS and no Stalin it’s time to eat if you’re taking this as an actual food
challenge you have one hour to eat everything in front of you for a shot at
a free shirt free hat and dessert the challenge is now technically off the
menu so the reward might also include a free meal or a refund if the manager is
up for it my friend Eric the electric took this challenge a few weeks after I
did and to my knowledge it’s still officially off the menu but they’ll make
it if you ask nicely and if they have the giant buns in stock there’s a whole lot of food here so my
advice is to arrive hungry and be ready to chow down I couldn’t see an official
weight listing anywhere for this challenge but the beef patty is listed
as a 2 pounder and along with the cheese lettuce tomato pickle secret sauce buns
and the smaller burger on top the giant burger couldn’t be less than five to
five and a half pounds then you have to contend with the bed of fries I was
given a generous portion of garlic parmesan fries I don’t know if there’s a
set weight but I received around two pounds of fries down there unfortunately
they were very salty and not easy to eat mostly because the flavor factor you
know that feeling when something is so salty and burns your mouth yeah I was
getting a lot of that my strategy was to use ketchup and soda to break down that
flavor barrier now that leads me to the picture of soda
you must pick a carbonated drink I’m assuming they’re trying to fill you by
doing that and the picture isn’t super huge but that’s got to be around 50
ounces of soda in there I went with Diet Coke just as a personal choice so
altogether we’re looking at a meal tipping the scale around eight to nine
pounds obviously a lot of that’s coming from the beverage but that’s still a lot
to consume inside of an hour I don’t know what the success rate on this
burger is or was but I’ve read several yelp review is discussing failed
challenge attempts and sometimes it was pretty bad
I felt good going in and thankfully the burger itself tasted wonderful my friend
Aaron from Aaron’s food adventures tagged along and wrote a nice article
about our visit for his blog so I have that link down below if you’re curious
he also helped me with camera work so hopefully this is a better challenge
video than some of the others I’ve done lately do you think I’ll get it done and
how long do you think I’ll need leave your thoughts in the comments section
down below and get comfortable because this giant burger combo isn’t going
anywhere embrace loving hands those soda games errant soda game and boom goes the dynamite the 8th
wonder of the world burger challenge is now safely in the history books of freak
eating for my efforts I got a special hat and t-shirt and a birthday cake
milkshake to go the manager also took my picture but I don’t know if that got
