Pulmonary Hypertension is this
interesting disease process in an in a simple way it is multiple ideologies
that basically affect the blood vessels specifically in the lung and inherently
in our bodies the lung blood vessels are very different from the remaining blood
vessels in the rest of our body. Many diseases cause pulmonary hypertension.
Most commonly it is because of heart failure by their other connective tissue
diseases, infectious processes such as HIV and congenital heart disease that
can lead to pulmonary hypertension. What happens is the patient experiences
more increased shortness of breath because of just higher resistance in the
lungs vessels and then the right side of the heart starts failing because of that
increased resistance. Over the last decade we’ve had great improvement or
therapeutic options not only IV but also oral medications of at least four
different classes that can be given to patients and that can increase not only
their survival but also increase their functioning and to keep them healthier
longer and without shortness of breath
