Preventing Heart Failure With Exercise

Preventing Heart Failure With Exercise

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but
exercise may make your cardiologist a stranger. A recent study found exercise reduced the
rates of heart failure. I’m Miranda Savioli with your latest health news. Heart failure is an often deadly problem when
the heart cannot adequately pump blood to the rest of the body. Researchers found more
leisure-time activity, such as walking or playing sports, was associated with a lower
risk of heart failure ten years later. Participants who exercised the most, about half an hour
of vigorous exercise every day, were about half as likely to have heart failure than
those who exercised the least. Try to exercise at least two and a half hours
per week to maintain heart health.
