I’m Rod Taylor I’m professor of Health
Service Research at the University of Exeter. I work in the area of
cardiovascular research and I’m the director of the extra clinical trials
unit. So there are really two areas that we are working in cardiovascular disease.
The first is that we are acting as an international coordinating center that
brings together the best international evidence that we have in the area of
rehabilitation and we’re doing this under what we call the umbrella of the
Cochrane international reviews. The second area of work that we’re doing is
work where we’re actually undertaking research ourselves and going out and
developing a new intervention for patients who can undertake
rehabilitation at home with heart failure. The aims of both of these pieces
of work is to try and make rehabilitation more accessible to
patients and improve the quality of life both for them and their carers
