Treating Obesity

(upbeat music) – I am Scott Moulton, DO,
Internal Medicine Physician at Ogden Internal Medicine,
here on the campus of Ogden Regional Medical Center. So, in my practice, as an Internist, I see a lot of people who
are struggling with obesity. Obesity and its comorbidities
are a rampant problem in the United States. You know, majority of adults
are overweight or obese. Obesity leads to increased
risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure,
heart disease, stroke. So, managing weight, and
managing the social factors that impact people’s
weight is a very important part of my practice. With patients who are morbidly obese, who are very overweight,
it can be a challenge because those people
often have depression, they have low self esteem,
they may not have good family support, or good financial support to where they can afford to go to a gym, or where they can afford
to go to the grocery store and buy fresh foods. You know, we educate
people about their diet, about other risk factors,
things that they’re doing that are negatively
affecting their health. Here at Ogden Internal Medicine, located on the campus of
Ogden Regional Medical Center, you can expect prompt
care, compassionate care. We have staff available
to answer phone calls, to make appointments, to
be able to provide answers and support as needed. If you are struggling with obesity, if you have trouble managing your weight, or the medical problems
associated with your weight, please give us a call, let
us know how we can help you. (upbeat music)
